Alex Heaton is Chief of Staff to Purdue University-Northwest’s Student
Government, where he oversees the day to day operations for Student Government
and coordinates student involvement with Student Government.
Alex spent 7 years in the US Army as a Infantry Squad Leader and Reconnaissance
Team Leader, during which time he deployed to both, Iraq and Afghanistan, where
he received numerous commendations for heroism and meritorious service.
Including a Bronze Star with Valor and Presidential Unit Citation.
Alex began attending Purdue University-Northwest in the fall of 2015, were he has
studied Political Science and Political Communications. During is time at Purdue
University-Northwest, Alex has represented PNW at the American Model United
Nations Conference three times and at Model Illinois Government twice. He hopes
to attend law school after he graduates in December of 2019 and plans to intern for
Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s Presidential campaign over the summer and fall.
When Alex isn’t emerged in school work or politics, he’s building computers for
himself and friends or traveling to visit friends around the country.
